On Ice Camp Curriculum

Monday Focus: Shooting

  • Proper Technique of Wrist, Snap, Slap and Backhand Shots
  • Quick Release Snap and Wrist Shots
  • Catching and Shooting and Shooting in Stride
  • Finishing Around the Goal

Tuesday Focus: Skating and Edgework

  • Detailed Instruction on Forward and Backward Strides
  • Focus on Lengthening Each Skater’s Stride
  • Edgework as it Relates to Stickhandling and Shooting
  • Overspeed and Conditioning

Wednesday Focus: Battle Drills

  • Offensive and Defensive Skills in the Corners and Neutral Zone
  • Puck Protection
  • Multiplayer Small Area Games

Thursday Focus: Position Based Skill

  • Full Ice Flow and Passing Drills
  • Gameplay Scenarios that Immediately Translate to Any Player’s Game

Off Ice Training Focus

Lateral Edge will be training the players and focusing on strength and mobility. Mobility is different from flexibility and is crucial for advanced hockey players. Lateral Edge trainers are experts in adding muscle while increasing range of motion.
